The Longwick 25 for 2009

This note is to introduce the 25 mile TT course which will be used in June 2009.

Normally there would be 4 occasions when we would ride 2 laps of the Longwick 11 circuit (with the Whiteleaf TT in the middle).  The 25 will take place instead of the second and third of them.

The sequence will therefore be:

Tues 2nd June        2 laps of Longwick 11

Tues 9th June        25 miles

Tues 16th June      Whiteleaf

Tues 23rd June      25 miles

Tues 30th June      2 laps of Longwick 11

The course is mostly on roads that are familiar, but with a section at Thame that we’ve not used previously.

The new Evening League 25 course

The start is on the minor road near Aston Sandford, and is the same point as used by the Antelope TTT.

As with the TTT, you go to the A4129 (Thame-Longwick road), turn left, and start a circuit.

The circuit goes first to the Longwick roundabout, where you TURN (2.63m).  You retrace to the Thame bypass roundabout, where you go LEFT, to the Chinnor Road roundabout, where you TURN (8.56m).  Retrace, going RIGHT to rejoin the A4129, and complete the circuit at the junction with the ‘start lane’ (12.39m).

You then repeat that circuit via the Longwick roundabout (14.45m), the Chinnor Road roundabout (20.38m), back to the junction with the ‘start lane’ (24.21m)

You then have less than a mile to go, and the finish point is approx 200 yards before the Longwick layby.
