WEEKEND RACE RESULTS 17th AUG09:
Time Trials
Tuesday night at Weston-on-the-green airfield, two HWCC teams competed in the Bicester Millennium 4up 10TT. Placing 5th with a time of 21.56 was a team of riders which were, Clive Nicholls, James Norris, Gareth Batson & Dave Priem. The winning team however, was Wycombe’s very own Dave Johnson, Steve Golla, Rob Fletcher & Chris Starling with a time of 20.44.
On wednesday evening HWCC took over the Whitewebbs 10. There were a lot of pb’s. Nick Calkin 21.57, Richard Davies 22.00, and Chris Starling 21.15. Dave Johnson and Greg Lewis also rode in some superb times but no personal bests! Their times were 20.48 and 21.56 respectively.
Last Saturday father and son duo Kev and Joe rode the 130 miles down to Weymouth for a
family holiday. While they were there they entered the
Weymouth CC 2-up time trial, with both of them on their road bikes. With a 17 second late start, they still managed to blow the field away with a win with 9 seconds in hand over 2nd place!

Sportive:
On Sunday John Francis rode the Evans Cycles “Ride It” Cotswold Sportive. It was an 88 mile course which started out from Wotton under Edge on a rolling but not too hilly course. It took the riders west to the Severn Estuary then in an easterly direction towards Swindon.
The weather was great except for a strong headwind on the homeward leg. John returned to the HQ with a time of around 5 hrs 10mins (times to be confirmed when they go online later in the week)

Extra news:
Robert Barrett competed the DB Max Duathalon at Castle Coombe on Sunday having not run since April!
The circuit included a 5k run with a time of 29:28, a 21k bike in 45:23 and 3k run in 20:16. His total time including transitions was 1.36.52 placing him 16th.
