Ice Ice Baby

Well another weekend of Ice meant HWCC riders risking life ,limb and spangly kit on our untreated pot hole riddled roads.

The 50 Hilly took Place with 15 riders turning up .The Fast group contained one rider Matt Stevens who completed the rather slippy and icy route in 2hrs 48 mins.

Also this weekend HWCC sportive rider John Francis Completed 100K “Hell of Ashdown”  Sportive starting and finishing in Biggin Hill, Kent.  The conditions in places were atrocious with patches of sheet ice on the B roads. John Witnessed fallers and even riders falling whilst pushing their bikes over icy stretches. At one point the skies clouded over and  a few flakes of snow fell but it didn’t amount to much. This is the 2nd time  in a row now that John has done this event. Both years the weather has been as bad as one can expect for the end of January, but it still incredibly popular, places for the event sold out in no time. John managed to stay upright and was glad to get round in one piece.  John did slower time than last year of 5 hours 9 minutes but all in all  it wasn’t a day for heroics.
well done that man
