Its back by popular demand on Sunday the 15th of November – 10.00am at Aston Hill.

Former National Champion Paul Lasenby set the record time in 2008
There is a trophy for this one. If you dont ride come out and support the riders.
Can anyone get near the new record set last year by Paul Lasenby which so narrowly beat the long standing record set by Richard Clarke way back in 1982.
It may not be steep but the 5 to 6 minute climb up Aston hill is a huge test of aerobic power. It starts at the Icknield way crossing and finishes at the county boundary sign.
There are categories for senior men, vets, ladies , juniors and juveniles and even a tandem record – something for everyone.
Current Aston Hill records are: Senior Men Paul Lasenby 4 mins 34.7 secs (2008) Ladies: Margaret Wright 6 mins and 8secs (1976) Vets Kevin Holloway 5 mins exactly (2007). Junior men: Richard Clarke 4 minutes 35 seconds (1982). Juvenile: Richard Clarke 4 minutes 52 secs (1981). Lady Vets: Margaret Wright 6 minutes 18 seconds (1985). Tandem: Gordon and Darren Wright 5 minutes 36 seconds (1984)
“I was the first rider rider to break the 5 minute barrier on the Aston climb back in 1976. Since then only some 5 riders have managed to achieve this target”, says Club Pres Gordon Wright. “So as an incentive this time round I will offer £20 to the fastest rider under 5 minutes on the 15th. Theres the challenge this year”.
